Camera.. check, sound device.. check.. Do I go on stage or go to the pit? After seeing a bunch of masked punk rockers make their epic entrance, I knew getting on stage would be a bad idea. My only option was to play it safe and pick a corner.. or jump into the fold and go straight to the heart of the pit.
Filming their performance was probably the most challenging mission to date. There is nothing manual about my camera. Staying on point with tracking and focusing became exponentially difficult, as the crowd surrounding me got wilder. Nevertheless, I focused on being immovable. I resisted the urge to head bang, valuing good footage over a good rager.
