Busta Rhymes working with Tiesto, Diplo & Afrojack?

Just days after Brit’s EDM surprise, we were served up with another treat. Rapper Busta Rhymes emerged on a Tiesto/Diplo produced track  “C’mon (Catch Em’ By Surprise)”.  Before that track sunk in, there was a new morsel to nosh on. Chris Brown’s second single, “Look At Me Now”, (off his upcoming F.A.M.E. album) dropped. Brown’s single is a Diplo/Afrojack produced track which features, you guessed it, Busta rapping over electronic beats; with the addition of Lil Wayne. The idea of Busta appearing on a Eurodance track seems to be getting mixed reviews. Some people simply find his addition out of place, while others feel the fast tempo complements his lightening quick flow.

Speaking of lightening quick flows, rapper Twista may have felt a little neglected over his peers’ collaboration, he later appeared on a remix of “Look At Me Now”, where he raps his verses over Busta’s. If you are not a fan of rappers jumping on electronic tracks or your favorite DJ/Producer working on commercial genres; you better get used to it because it looks as if we are going to see more and more of this growing trend.

As you can see in the photograph/video posted above, we had the privilege of meeting Busta at the Deadmau5 Show at Roseland Ballroom on October 29th. We were interested to know firsthand what inspired Busta to jump on EDM tracks, and particularly how much investment he actually had in the scene. Shortly, we got our answer when Busta responded, “I just did a track with some n**** named Diplo. You heard of him?” Regardless of Busta’s knowledge on the scene, we certainly commend his efforts in stepping out of his comfort zone (hip hop) and venturing into the world of EDM.
