Boys Noize – Yeah becomes [[[ZUPER BLAHQ]]]’s – Dance

Definitely hate being the bringer of bad news, but for any hardcore Boys Noize (Alex Ridha) fans out there, such as myself, Will.I.Am has jumped on a Boys Noize track. This collaboration is cringe inducing and does nothing to enhance the original. If anything, the original track, “Yeah”, supplements the weightless lyrics added by WIll.I.Am’s alter ego/side project [[[ZUPER BLAHQ]]]. Not sure if he gets off on the fact that he can jump on tracks like these, and still scratching my head over Alex’s participation. Why would he agree to tarnish his excellent production, financial reasons aside?

The original track emotes a nice sensational build up with a very refined minimal approach, as only Boys Noize can conjure, now absent with the addition of lyrics permeated throughout the entire track.

Not trying to dwell on the negative though. We respect Will and the Black Eyed Peas for propelling EDM to the masses in the US. However, they need to inject more into the formula. This copy and paste method has become more apparent in other EDM tracks. Busta used a similar approach when he jumped on C’mon a few weeks ago.

Sampling and remixing is an art form that is heavily scrutinized by music critics, but jumping on preexisting tracks without any alteration is just lazy and deserves no merit. The War for relevancy continues and Will.I.Am is at the forefront. He’s already drawn criticism from EDM enthusiasts for sampling the man revered to some as the god of Electronic Music, Deadmau5, on his track ‘The Time’.  See Deadmau5′s Facebook post for further info.
I hope some of you will sympathize with our plight on this one.
