Maluca BlackBerry Commercial
Around October of 2010, the Diplo Blackberry Torch 9800 commercial started hitting the airwaves. The commercial blends footage of Diplo everywhere from different countries (Japan, Jamaica) to a studio, elevator, car ride, and even live concerts, demonstrating how his Blackberry Torch is the device keeping him “connected” to his world.
It seems as if we haven’t seen the last of these commercials. Just the other day, while watching Seinfeld re-runs, we caught a new Blackberry commercial featuring Maluca, an artist who has collaborated with Diplo and his label Mad Decent. See a pattern here? It will certainly be interesting to see which Mad Decent affiliates will take the leap into commercials next. Wouldn’t mind seeing a Das Racist commercial. Who’s that Brown ring tone possibly? I’d use it.
We sat down with Maluca (Natalie Yepez) last year and discussed her aesthetic. Glad to see she’s still evolving as an artist.
